We began to record what we knew about rhinos and questions

we were wondering about.

We prepared for our Skype call with Mrs. Stadler by brainstorming questions that we wanted to ask her:

Several students developed a possible fundraising plan and approached our principal, Mr. Hilder, to ask permission to go ahead with their plan.

Operation Save The Rhinos.
FEBRUARY 5, 2013 @ 7:57 PM 0 COMMENTS EDIT THIS POST

We are doing a global project about rhinos. We have to think about ways we can save rhinos because rhinos are being poached. People take the rhinos horn and sell it for around 1 million dollors sometimes even more. So to start of we are doing a raffle ( just our class) and the prize is a rhino stuffy it’s a webkins. We are trying to raise money and send it to Africa. So if you are reading this post please buy a ticket. Do it for the rhinos.
Here are some cool facts about a rhino.
There were about 43 rhinos poached in 2013
There are 5 different rhino species , White Rhino, Black Rhino, Javon Rhino, Indian Rhino theres another one but I forgot its name but it starts with an S .
Some people think that the rhinos horn can be medicine but it is the same thing as your fingernails and your hair.
Rhinos have poor eye sight but good hearing.
A Rhino can live for 40 to 45 years.
Rhinos can run fast.

Tickets are $.50 or 3 for $1.00

Hi everyone,

Our class is involved in a project called “The traveling rhinos”. One way that our class is going to raise awareness for rhinos is to have a raffle! Today we got to design tickets and then we get to have a vote to see what ticket design we’re going to use. A couple of days ago we got to Skype with Ms.Stadler the teacher who came up with the rhino project. A couple of days ago we also made some really beautiful rhino art! In Cape Town,South Africa there is a place called Kruger National Park where they keep rhinos. So far in 2013 there has been 85 rhinos poached as of Febuary 8. In 2011 there was 448 rhinos poached and in 2012 there was 668 poached 395 of them being poached in Kruger National Park. It’s so sad isn’t it? Please help because YOU can make a difference.Rhinos need you,be thier voice.
